Down-streak!

Postby balalajka91 » Wed Apr 18, 2012 5:18 pm

Just need to get this down-streak out of my head. Have been playing for a few hours now, and ended up at the most "fishiest" table I've ever seen in my entire life. Everybody on the table limp/called almost every single hand, no matter the position and play until show-down with any pair. Excellent I thought, this will do good for my bankroll. So I played really tight, didn't try to do anything fancy, damnit at the end I even didn't c-bet my flops cause I knew they wouldn't fold. But here is the thing, I lost hands like KK all-in preflop against J-6o hiting twopairs. not only once but 2-3 times. I got so many pocket pairs this session that I can' t believe it. Mostly low pockts tho. And I'm not kidding now when I say that I saw 25 flops with pockets pairs before I hit my first set. I was bleeding chips, was nothing I could do. I didn't tilt, I still played "my game" but the cards just never came. Ended the session now when I had pocket queens and a guy is 3 betting me preflop. I push him and he calls. He show 6-7 suited... SIX- SEVEN ....Guess what, he flopped the straight. Fuck my life and good night!

YIKES

but we have all been there
sadly there is no defense in poker
so one must take a deep breath, relax, be patient
stay on the offense, ie aggressive
learn to live w/ the bad beats, not tilt
and KNOW IN THE LONG RUN
BAD BEATS KEEP THE FISH IN THE POND, IF THEY NEVER GOT LUCKY
THEY WOULD NOT KEEP PLAYING VERY LONG, FEWER BAD PLAYERS MAKES GAMES LESS PROFITABLE

I like to think about it this way
it is easier to get chips from a fish, (that they got from me or other decent players on a bad beat)
than it is from another tag/competent player

so hang in there, be patient
and good luck in the fish pond

and welcome
