The times u hade AA how many of them did you went all in preflop? If u did go all in preflop with all of them and lost 4times I guess thats abit bad. Maybe one or maximum two times I would guess be pretty normal against one opponent.

If u did raise and did see the flop with only one opponent it all depends on how u read the flop and what type of opponent you are facing. Maybe some of the hands u could get out of even with aces?

Against several callers your aces are not as good but almost always a favorite.

Tell me about some of the hands!

Cheers

at the risk of beating an old drum
i have had runs where i won w/ AA 36 out of 38 and KK 35 out of 38 times
over a run of about 8500 hands which was a good $$$$$$$ stretch for me
(and of course i thought i was ready to take over the poker world)
but then i have had runs where AA and/or KK can only win small pots and lose big pots
which is frustrating to say the least

bottom line is variance is a bitch in the short run and you need to look at if you played the hand well
and not if bad cards hit to give a bad result

hope this help lessen the frustration of a bad stretch

Thanks Johan,

I have not had time to play much the last few days but the little I did play I did ok. Pretty much stayed even which is alright for just a few hands. I have gone back to basics and am not bluffing too much and believing my opponents more often. I did some analysis in HEM and realized I am playing badly in the blinds, defending too much and raising too much from the small blind when folded around too me. Obviously I am raising from sb and folding when played back at.

This is really a tough game to get good at! I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer but certainly of average intelligence and I have been really working on improving my game for about a year. Some days I feel like I am really progressing and others I am convinced that I am a total idiot!

The best thing about it is that I lose interest in a hobby when I feel I have learned all I can about it. This could take the rest of my life to get tired of.

Hehe yes!

I think in terms of "if im playing seriously, analysing and stuff all the time untill i reach 50 (im 32 today), I hopefully will be so skilled that I can play at 100$ buyin and get some extra cash to go on vaccation with

And thats why I want to hold poker funny for me. Cause if I dont get skilled I atleast have had a good time playing poker :D

Cheers!

Hi Frank!

Thats a long downswing I think. We all have things to improve in out play I guess :)

Even if we have played 60years! Respekt to you! ;)

Tell about your progress and if u turn the downswing!

Best regards!

Hey guys,

Wow Frank, thought I was probably the eldest here at almost 62. Anyway, an 8 month downswing seems pretty extreme. Scares me to think about going that long without showing some comeback. I am guessing you are playing at much higher stakes live and that could cost you a pretty penny. Are you losing at both live and online? Do you keep track separately?

I think your decision to get some coaching is an excellent idea. A fresh set of eyes on your game should help.

I played a couple hundred hands in the last two days and up one and a half buyins at 10NL, so I think it is turning a little. I believe my downswing was mostly bad play with a couple or three coolers.

Good luck to all

Hi guys. Iplay at a club.Been playing at this club a little over a year.It had just open when i started. The game has changed. It has become very loose and aggresive. Mainac style. The game is 1/2 no limit. The buy in is $300 or you can equal the biggest stack. They chase draws and generally play bad poker No math at all. It is impossible to put them on a hand. They play lwhat they call pot odds, meaning if some calll then they want into the pot.Averag 5 callers a hand. Aver preflop raise 6XBB. Lots of big pots. And lots of bad beats. I play Tight aggre. Seems like it would be easy the beat the game but it is not. I think i have to change gears Etc. The game has gotten so aggresive that they have chased all the fish away so it has become harder to win. I usually play early in the evening. By Middnight 6 to 10K on the table. Once they play till early mornig over 20K on the table. Frank

Wow Frank! that is some serious cash. I know what you mean by those are tough to beat cause they bet every flop with crap and when they catch it is hard to tell. I have some of those same problems at the micros. The only thing you can do is tighten up in my opinion and nail them when you are sure you are good. Problem with this is they will probably not play when you do bet if you are playing the same guys all the time. I don't know what to say.

I hope Tim sees this and can give you some pro advice.
