Bankroll challange

July 2, 2012, 5:05 pm

Hello folks! First of all, I have no idea if people here will actually read this blog. But the truth is, the reason i write this is more for myself. What this blog will be about is my own bankroll challange. I've been playing poker online for only six months, and I feel that I have developed in such a way that I can finally look forward and make a real effort to build up a bankroll for my own. So here is where this journey starts, with this very blog!

Today I cashed in at Pokerstars. I've been playing there for a while and I'm going to be honest with you. At the beginning I lost. I didn't lose much but at the end of the day I often noticed that my bankroll was abit lower than the day before, and all of a sudden the bankroll was empty. Do not missunderstand me folks, I didn't invest to much money, but the biggest problem was that I did not know anything about bankroll managment. I just played and tried to figure out why I couldn't keep my winnings even tho I actually learned from my misstakes and started to play better for ever single day.

Learning by doing! It was actually a good thing that I lost my first investment, cause I learned from every misstake and one of the first things I noticed about poker is that "It's not about winning as much as possible in every winning hand, it's about losing as little as possible in every losing hand".

My second investment. When it was time for me to do my second investment I spent alot of time to actually study the game. I read a lot of books, watched some of the pro:s play online and I also found this very site, Outstandingpoker.com. Thanks to this I learned to master all about pot-odds, position play and things that I had no clue about before. Becuase of this, I won back what I've lost before.

This is it! So know it's the time. I will try to start building my bankroll at Pokerstars, and I will use this blog as a tool. Here I will write down how I'm doing, how I played some hands (both bad and good ones) and hopefully it will give me an understanding why things went as they did. So if you are still reading this, I hope you enjoy it, and that you help me in this journey. Feel free to give comments later about hands I've played, and what you think I did good or bad. And if I'm the only one who is reading this, well...It's still a good diary! My own bankroll management will allow me to play at stakes where I have 20xbuy-in. So I will with my 250$ play at NL10 until I reached 500! So this is it, let the journey begin!
