Stuck

November 16, 2011, 3:50 pm

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well. Since my last post I moved back down to 10nl after withdrawing $150 and my new BR was $180.  Played 10nl and won at about 12bb/100, which is actually my sustained winrate over ~50k hands at 10nl, and soon had the roll to move up with $350.  Sadly, I still can't seem to break through the wall that is 25nl. I have lost at least 1k playing 25nl across merge and bodog, probably a little closer to 1.1k.  This is in at most 50-60k hands.  I'

Cooled Off

September 29, 2011, 3:50 pm

Hey guys, hope you are all doing well. After my fast start at Bodog I've hit a bit of a downswing and have been running pretty bad the last 15k hands.  Lot of coolers, lot of gross spots where I'm forced to fold a strong hand, lot of suckouts.  I normally wouldn't mind as much now since I understand variance is a part of the game but this 4 table lmit on Bodog tilts the shit out of me. Hard to grind out of variance, and no rakeback to pad the losses doesn't help either.  Finding

Still Going Good!

September 1, 2011, 9:15 pm

Hey everyone, hope you are all doing well. I've been able to move up to 25nl and now have a bankroll of $401 after moving up at $325.  Still have the huge amount of fish to thank, barely a difference between the 5nl tables and the 25nl tables.  With good table selection I have at least two fish at every table.   Been working on good double/triple barrel spots against regs and going for thinner value with hands like second pair good kicker aginst fish.  It's gone well so far

My Second Go at Online Poker

August 1, 2011, 3:16 pm

Hello everyone, hope you are doing well. I couldn't fight the poker bug any longer and decided to deposit $100 on to Bodog to get back into the action.  Things have gone amazingly well to start.   In 11,000 hands, I have over doubled my roll and now sit at $225 and comfortably play 10nl and abuse all the fish. I had always seen HG talk about how soft the games were, but I was skeptical that the games could really be that soft, but they really are.  This must be what online pok

Results of My First Go at Online Poker

April 19, 2011, 5:15 pm

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well.  With the whole FT, PS and UB/AP fiasco thats going down, I've decided to withdraw all my money from Carbon and see where everything is headed before redepositing on any site, bringing a temporary end to my online poker career.  I ended up withdrawing $162 (before any withdrawl fee), putting me at a $62 dollar profit overall from poker, but down $38 since making the move to Carbon.  I had a BR of over $400 on two occasions and moved up to 2

Grinding My Way to 1K - Part10

April 3, 2011, 5:23 pm

Hey everyone, hope your all doing well. Poker has been very frustrating for me lately as I have been on a steady decline in the last two weeks.  Since my last update I at one poin twas able to grind my way up to $280 from $240, but since then I have lost all my profits and then some.   One hole in my game that I've realized is that I make dumb river calls to often concincing myself that I'm good.  In the last couople of days I've decided to cut down on those calls and have been

Grinding My Way to 1K - Part9

March 23, 2011, 3:17 pm

Well, after losing 5 buyins in the last 600 hands, I'm heading back down to 10nl. Second time I've been able to move up only to be slammed back down to 10nl agian. Again, mostly coolers and unavoidable situations.  Just sucks that it always happens as soon as I move up. I've lost $340 at 25nl in only 6k hands. Thats -22bb/100. BR: $240 Good luck at the tables!

Grinding My Way to 1K - Part8

March 20, 2011, 9:12 pm

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well. I have been doing extremely well the last week or so, so much so that I can move up in stakes to 25nl. I credit most of my success to tightening up my preflop ranges.  I've gone from the looser end of tag (24/20) to what I consider to be more of an ideal style, 21/17. I realized that hands like 67s and other marginal hands were really just hurting my overall profits and generally got me into more trouble than good.   I wanted to make the switch

Grinding My Way to 1K - Part7

March 6, 2011, 7:07 pm

Hey guys hope everything is going well.  This last week or so has been a roller coaster ride for me, filled with big ups and big downs.  After posting the last edition of my blog I went on a heater and was up about $80 including my deposit bonus and rakeback, putting my bankroll at $320.  Sadly, it dind't last as the next day I lost $60 in one session, and have yet to have a great session since.  After all the action I'm sitting up about $5, so atleast it was a winning week.&

Grinding My Way to 1K - Part6

February 26, 2011, 10:28 am

Hey guys, hope you are all doing well.  I recently had the chance to move up to 25nl from 10nl, but sadly it didn't go well at all.  I was a small winner in my first session and a loser in all my other sessions. After playing at 25nl for about 4000 hands I was down about six buy-ins and just didn't feel comfortable playing at the stake anymore.  Most of my losses were from unavoidable situations, but I would say about 1.5 buy-ins were from me pushing the actoin after running bad
