Grinding Full Time Online

March 13, 2011, 1:24 am

Hello People,   I am back from a few months absence. Since Jan 1st 2011, I have been grinding like 35 Hours a week online on the 1/2 NL stakes on Ipoker. Been grinding 6-8 tables for about 80K hands a month. What keeps me motivated to grind this kind of volume every week? First of all I got a great rakeback deal, so I get alot of rakeback every month grinding this volume. But I think my best motivation is setting goals for myself. At the start of 2011 I set a goal in How much rake i want

Life of a Grinder prt 7

I’ve done some interesting things this week. I finished my 3rd video.  I had to record two sessions for this video. The first session I was sick, and my mic was on during this session. So You hear me blowing my nose every now and then, so that wasn’t really optimal. So I decided to record a new session. It’s kind of a waste though, I recorded the session somewhere in a 6000 hand session. So there was a lot of history and meta-game going on between me and the other players.

I’ve been sick all week, and didn’t play much. Friday I was still somewhat sick, but I couldn’t help myself to play some hands. Because I wasn’t 100% sharp I played on 100NL. In two days I grinded 11.000 hands. Everything was going pretty well, and I recorded 45 minutes of a session to make my 3rd video this week. Sunday I was feeling better and I was eager to join the 200NL and 400NL tables again. Right of the bat I get KK vs AA on the 400NL and I fail to suck out. Even

It’s been a while since I’ve typed my last blog. I’ve been a little busy lately. Been going to the gym regularly.  Played paintball this weekend, and I’m pretty proud to say we ended on 2nd place this season with our paintball team!   Last time I start showing signs of RSI. Last week I went to the gym and there’s a physiotherapist there. He examined me, and he confirmed that I show a lot of signs of RSI. Lucky for me I can do something about it now! He s

So I’ve played about 20.000 hands in the past 7 days. I’ve been grindin’ a lot of hands since I came back from my vacation. I am pretty happy with how things are going right now. I’m playing a lot of hands, it’s not going really bad. I am planning most my sessions for the week, and try to keep myself to play at those times I planned them on. This way when I am not playing poker, my life isn’t consumed by it. Of course I take time to analyze my handhistories, r

I continued played 100NL this week and I think I played around 20.000 hands. Everything was going great and I build my confidence back up to get ready for the 200NL again. Yesterday I ended up playing all kinds of tables. I found a familiar wale who was playing 600NL Full Ring. A seat right next to him was available, so of course I joined the table. I wouldn’t recommend moving up stakes just because there is a fish on it. But when you’re comfortable enough on the limits on a single t

Yesterday I made my first instruction video for outstandingpoker.com. It is a demo video I made for Errol and Tim, and they have to evaluate it. If they think it’s good enough they will upload it sooner or later on the website. It’s a video where I am playing on 100 NL 6 Max tables on Full Tilt. I explain the importance of position, table selection and how to get maximum value with big hands. Recording the video didn’t take long, but after that it was time for the voice over&he

Let me introduce myself. My name is Morten, I am 24 years old , I live in Holland and since Januari 2010 I am a professional Poker player. Before I played Poker I worked in an office and did administrational work. I got introduced to Poker in 2007. Right from the start I loved the game.  I played it with friends in homegames a lot and soon I joined the online Poker community. I have always been good in sports and games and I quickly figured out how to beat the homegames I was playing in. On
