  • In regards to the river, you definitely were correct to raise. He can definitely call with worse (Kx, 5x, A2, perhaps a pocket pair that doesn't believe you), so you don't want to miss out on value. As for whether to call his 3bet push - it really depends on whether he can 3bet bluff (or 3bet a worse hand) in that spot. Players will rarely, if ever, bluff 3bet on the river, so it's probably a fold unless he's completely crazy. But the much more important point about this hand is that you should have raised the turn. He's leading into you indicating he likes his hand (whether it's a draw or strong hand). You aren't going to get any more value by slowplaying it to the river (ie. if he's bluffing with JT and hits a J on the river, he'll still probably fold to a river bet), but you're missing MASSIVE value by not raising the turn when there are a ton of draws and made hands that he'll call with, that you can get massive value from again on the river. You potentially cost yourself 3x the value of the pot on the turn by not raising (since you didn't build the pot on the turn) - it's such a fundamental mistake.

  • I agree with Atta on the turn action. You should definitly raise there as Atta explained. I think on those stakes the river is almost always a call though.. I think most players will see any 5 as the nuts.. But then again, I never played those stakes..
