An introduction from Outstanding Poker Pro killer_be_99.

Postby killer_be_99 » Tue Aug 10, 2010 12:05 pm

Hey,

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Errol and I am co-founder or Outstanding Poker.

I used to have a number of videos on the site however I took them off mostly because we have added new coaches that really hammer home the basic fundamentals of the game. Besides I play mostly live now. I will try to add content whenever I have free time (articles, podcasts etc).

As co-founder I am trying as hard as possible to get the word out there about Outstanding Poker.
I do everything behind the scenes along side Tim (who really is the tech wizard). I am the Affiliate manager, marketer, and customer support. I am really trying to build the brand as much as possible.

A lot of work goes behind putting together a site like this. Tim and I spent way too many hours building the framework for the new site when we lived together back in the day (we just moved into our own places in downtown Toronto ... TMI). We also worked with a number of designers and developers and are still working with them to add new features to the site.

The site is still small and we are trying to build something that users will want to come back for (time and time again).

If you have any questions about the site feel free to give me a shout :)

Cheers,

Errol

Hi Errol,

I did wonder where your videos had gone. Is the DRM for those videos likely to be removed too, or will we still be able to access them if we have them downloaded already?

If I ever start playing live I'll be wanting a t-shirt with an Outstanding Poker logo on *hint hint*. But that'll be some way off as I'm still getting nailed in the micromicrostakes :)

Tim suggested we remove them. Too much content that was not focused on the real basic fundamentals. But you can still watch them if you wish if you have already downloaded them.

We wanted to give you a structure to learn on ...

That is why we created the Formula To Success
(For NL Texas Holdem Cash Games)

And yes we will be giving away 5 baseball jersey t-shirts to 5 active members of the site.
See giveaway - http://www.outstandingpoker.com/printfection.php

Cheers,

Ooh, those are nice. I like.

I'm terrible at pointing out typos, and so guilty of committing them myself. Which of you needs shooting? Tim or you?

Hi Errol

i was just curious why you switched to live play?
i assume it is more profitable (opponents are worse?) or more fun

All I'm going to say is that Errol is the worst speller on the planet and I waste many-a-nights spell-checking his stuff. I have corrected a mispelled "outstanding" at least a million times :)

Tim
i sympathize with your evening activities that may be not your first choice
but i have many former employees and current students
that would give Errol
a ruon foure theyre munee

here is a classic example back when i was a young pup engineer at the largest airplane manufacturer in the world

The guy next to me got a reply to a request for product information from a vendor

Attn Jeff Smith
Bowing Arrowspace and Dafence Group

For anybody that doesnt immediately see the translation
me and my desk mate worked at

Boeing Aerospace and Defense Group
Seattle Wa, USA
home of the 707, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767 Militay AWACS, cruise missile etc etc etc
i guess there was no way anybody living in the USA working at one of the other 50 largest companies in the USA could have actually heard of the maker of over 75% of all commercial airplanes in the world (at that time) and try to spell the name of the customer correctly

I reckon we all have our own skill set and no offense to those that may be
spelling challenged, although it is sometimes amuses others

heh sorry about the spelling mistakes.. I will try to review my posts from now on!

anyways.. as for live play.. offline players are much worse than their online counterparts..

Players at the $5/10 nl level couldn't even beat the $1/$2 game online.

Its much more profitable. Only problem is that you don't get the comfort of playing out of your home.

I do play online just not as much as I used to!

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Try to do the Ford way and delegate one man can't do it all.

To promote I would be handing out garb, or hire some down on there luck kid who just went broke to hand it out for you. Or better yet a hot chick ;)

Since you are playing more live, maybe get a Flip Cam. Post on YouTube ? (More for Promotion) Or give set a challenge whom could make video on You tube about site and give like FREE YEAR MEMBERSHIP?
Or send a shirt (or tank top for women) - take a picture at a casino get xxxxxx

Set up a Freeroll for the member's on here - Like site on Fulltilt, people will see the Freeroll and who is Hosting it. (Promotion)

Ohh yeah I am also a VERY VERY bad speller but was able to download an app that is in my Google Bar (ABC check). It will automatically underline in red when I have spelled a work incorrectly. [Ha spelled automatically incorrect and you never knew, lol]

Ok - Maybe that will help, maybe not was fun, alright - Keep your head up
