Re: Trips on wet board

Tough spot, really depends on your image. If you're seen as pretty tight and not spazzy postflop then I might just check behind because he isn't going to call with worse. I'd probably just check behind, as it's gonna be really tough for him to have AJ (the only worse hand he can really have that mig...

Re: cooler or mistake?

Definitely a cooler, he has AJ and takes this line way more often than he has AA (one combo of AA possible, 6 combos of AJ possible). He'll also likely do this with KJ (another 6 combos). Then depending on how bad he is he'll also call/raise/not fold with random AQ/Ax/KQ/flush draws, so I'm super fi...

Re: 50 NL 6max JJ oop 4bet pot

Smells like a poorly played AK to me, I would probably check-fold the turn given his stats. Also there's nothing wrong with smooth calling his 3bet preflop with JJ there if he isn't stacking off without QQ+ and not even AK. You can add more bluffs to your 4betting range since he'll have to fold a lo...

Re: How bout this laydown?

Great laydown, I agree with how you played it except I'd raise the turn a little larger to around $15 because he's getting too good a price to call with his draw. I think Player1's turn cold call of your raise and then river donk is a pretty telling line for a completed draw or possibly slowplayed b...

Re: Aggressive opponent on drawy board.

It's all about understanding opponents and their tendencies. I would never fold here against almost anyone. A lot of weak regs will throw out a raise on this board with random cards because it appears scary, but then give up when you call. So you can call and re-evaluate on the turn. If the flush hi...

Re: Opinions on a strange hand?

Interesting hand.

I would definitely lead the turn. You will get value from worse Aces, pair+gutshot, pair+FD and can comfortably fold to a raise from most non-maniac players. It also protects your bluffing range in that spot.

Re: What in gods name is going on here?

This is likely a weirdly played monster. 17/15 passiveish guys almost never bluff in this spot, especially with an overbet. Nice fold :)

Re: QQ easy fold?

On the turn against this opponent you either need to bet/call or check behind and get to showdown. You can bet/fold against a really passive player who will almost never bluff check-raise, but this type of guy will c/r with random overcards too much to bet/fold. 50% aggression factor is pretty high,...

Re: another QQ hand

Nice fold on the turn, given the passivity of your opponent it's very likely you're beat. I think you have odds to call his pf limp-reraise for set-value since you're pretty deep. The tough part is on the flop - I don't think calling the continuation bet on that flop is terrible but it really depend...
