DOJ reverses decision on online gaming

What is everyone's thoughts on the changes in online poker since the DOJ has decided that online gaming is not in violation of the UIGEA? I am particularly interested in how this will affect the existing sites. I foresee a huge cluster##### as the US market tries to get a foothold. As no federal leg...

Re: How do you manage how long you play poker for?

I think it is different for everyone. I only play micro cash and work full time, so I play a little in the morning before work, maybe an hour. In the evenings if I am not too tired, I may play for an hour. On the weekends I probably play a total of 3 or 4 hours a day. I usually only play an hour at ...

Re: Down and nearly out :S

A question for Hockeyguy: On #4 where you say "No calling raises w/TT or less unless you are getting at least 20/1 implied odds". I take this to mean raise or fold. Is that correct? Also I am a little fuzzy on the implied odds. I have read about them over and over but still do not fully un...

Re: Down and nearly out :S

Hey Kitson the poker bug is tuff to cure and can be a bit of a roller coaster, you didnt mention how many hands you played during the yo yo ride. But if it feels like you understand the basic concepts i would look at a few things that helped me when i was starting out trying to incorporate the less...

Re: Hold em Manager

You need to buy the Bodog Handgrabber which is available at http://www.idleminer.com/ It runs about fifty bucks. As HG says Bodog is probably the softest site around and if you are trying to build a roll this is your best shot.

Video #146

HG's latest video revisits basic ABC style of poker at the micros. This is a great refresher and comes at a good time, as lots of us are pulling back due to the latest developments in the online poker world. A lower variance style of play will benefit people who may not be able to, or do not want to...

Re: stay away form .02/04?

I find the same thing at these limits. You have the people who see every flop and only play when they flop well. It is tough to get beat by 86o when you hold a premium pair and lose to two pair. But it is possible to build a roll this way. I have done it, it just takes a looong time. :)
