He seems like a decent regular and I dont think he has AA and KK and AK in his 3bet calling range very often (in this case he did obviously). So on the flop I thought I was ahead against his range of QQ, JJ, TT, AJs and AQ. He would call a flop cbet with JJ AJ and QQ. But on the turn a checkraise all in?? This kind of move made by a semi aggro tag means a monster most of the times. im not even sure he would do that with AJ. Following this line of thinking he would only do this with JJ. Im wondering if this call is ok against his range. My top two pair doesnt look good given I have to pay 35 to win a 107 pot against JJ, and was drawing dead against AA.

To make a long story short, I dont see any hand that Im against of against this guy, so I should have folded. But that feels bad! That flop looked so great! What do you think?

Definitely a cooler, he has AJ and takes this line way more often than he has AA (one combo of AA possible, 6 combos of AJ possible). He'll also likely do this with KJ (another 6 combos).

Then depending on how bad he is he'll also call/raise/not fold with random AQ/Ax/KQ/flush draws, so I'm super fist-pump happy to get the money in here on the turn. Folding to his turn raise with top-two here would be a massive mistake.

a good place to try poker stove

when you put in his range AA AJ KJ jj etc
it factors in the fact that Tim mentioned there is one 1 combo possible of AA and 6 combos of AJ etc that makes a call getting 3/1 ish on the call of bad guy check raise mandatory. Obviously a painful reveal, but you were happy to call before you saw it, just gotta try not to let bad result change your judgement. it is good to verify judgement w/ pokerstove, but him having top oif his range doesnt make your play bad.

there is another app like poker stove( my apologies i forgot the name) that more specifically details the possible combinations of the bad guy range, (ie 1 combo AA, 6 combos AJ etc) so that it shows why this is vry important since you have AJ and KJ crushed and are dead vs AA and thin vs JJ/or KK but you are ahead of more possible combos thsn you are behind AND getting good odds to call thereby makng a fold a huge error. especially since most timess AA oor KK will reraise preflop and AJ KJ are more likely to be calling hands preflop as opponent did
