I isolated opponent UTG+1 limp/called my PFR 5$ (100NL game). Both players full stack.
I hold KcQc on button
pot is 13$

Flop comes Th Js 9c
Opponent bets 13$.
I push AI
Opponent calls and holds 99.

Turn brings another J and i'm drawing dead.
I'd like to consider this a bad beat, but would like to know if some of you would play it differently. I could have reraised or just called the flop, but i don't believe i would go away after the turn.

Matt, would you play this the same in a tourney?
can you think of any situation you might play it different in a tourney, for instance big stack vs big stack?

thanks hg

I dont think so,I mean on this type of board slowplaying isn't too profitabe. A decent amount of the time your opponent could catch up with you as well so the best way to disguise the nuts on these types of board (J10 on a 789 flop is anther prime example), is to make a decent size raise. Your opponent can then assign you to a huge range of hands, anything from 2 pair or top pair, to some kind of pair with a straight draw like KJ.

Assuming the turn blanks and you c/r on the turn after slowplaying, your opponent is likely to slow down with the threat of a slowplayed straight in mind, whereas especially at the lower stakes people auto-assume your gonna slowplay monster hands until at least the turn so your gnna get paid off a lot.

One vry very small situation whre I may change the way i play the hand would be if having check raised I was then 4 bet, I would flat and let my opponent think he has the lead, thus building a biggerpot on the turn. This definitely works best in big vs big stack situations though.
