Full Tilt, Absolute and PokerStars

What the hell guys? I thought the FBI seizure of the Full Tilt site was a hoax... I am stunned that this is not a topic of discussion here.

Where is everyone moving too?

hi pete
yeah it has been surprisingly quiet on the issue
i still have some $$$$$$ in ub and stars
i was waiting for the dust to settle on trying to withdrawl as i figured the sites are scrambling to deal w/ the feds/player questions/withdrawl request/ withddrawl process since that is what feds targeted on bank transactions.

i am just glad i didnt have a big bankroll on those sites, i bet those players are puckered up
i am still rolling on bodog and carbon although i plan to reduce my bankroll to lessen my risk until i have a better idea wtf is going on.

i guess there is no simple solution like legalization and tax it, oh wait never mind

see you all on bodog- lol

I know, I am stunned.

I had about $.36 left at full tilt, I got an email today about moving to the UK site, but I had already signed up for 888Poker. They have webcam tables which make it feel kind of casino/homegame like.

Good luck at bodog, hope you get your cash out of the other sites.

So where should a US player like myself go? I understand that BoDog is not compatible with HUD's and there's no rakeback there. I'm debating between Cake and Players Only. Any tips?

I'm extremely pissed and embarrassed an American today. Part of me wishes I could leave this country for good. Land of the free, my ass!

From what I have read and heard, general consensus seems to be, putting money on the sites you can still play on is OK, so long as you don't put too much on.

Fact of the matter is, no-one knows if the FBI is going to go after the smaller sites aswell. Personally? I think they will. I mean, if they don't, then the sites like bodog etc will have a sudden influx of players and within the month, same thing will happen.

I also expect very soon, for the majority of these sites to shut there doors to american players, as they won't want the same repercussions as the big sites.

My advice being a player from the UK, if you're purely wanting to play poker just for a bit of fun, go ahead and stick $50 on one of these sites. But make sure it's $50 you can afford to lose, because a) chances are these sites are soon gonna be shutting down action for the US, or shut down for allowing US action and b) chances are you're gonna have a hard time withdrawing the money anyway.

What this does for things like training sites, etc etc... I don't know. It's too early to tell, and it doesn't look like this is going to go away any time soon, so things are really hanging in the balance.

I decided not to play over the weekend to let the dust settle. I mean, there was all types of rumours of sites being shut down world-wide, no access to money world-wide etc etc, so whilst I've kept a close eye on proceedings over the weekend, I was expecting something really to be known within 48 hours.

Looks like we're looking more at months before we know anything.

Yeah this whole situation is crazy.

I'll probably be withdrawing all my cash from Carbon as I've seen the average amount of players online double in the last two days, which is sure to attract attention.

Gonna take the break to spend some time reading some poker books I've always meant to read.

Hopefully it will get to a point where I can comfortably put money back onto a site, but it's hard to tell where the situation is headed.

Yeah it's a really tough time to be an online poker player in the US right now. Hopefully some good can come out of this and this creates some urgency to legalize and regulate internet poker in the US.

The Merge network (Carbon, Players Only) and Cake are still allowing US players to play. I have no idea whether it's safe to play there or not at this point as an American. I would likely limit the amount of money you keep online if you do choose to play as an American (ie. only keep a few buyins) as you never know which sites will shutdown overnight. It seems like it might be some time before US balances from Stars/FT are returned (although both sites have guaranteed that balances are 100% safe).

If you need a new site to play on, our rakeback site at http://rakeback.outstandingpoker.com has maximum rakeback% offers for all the various rooms out there, feel free to check it out.

Rest assured OP will keep on chugging as I am fortunately Canadian and will continue playing and creating new videos. Expect a good one this week!

You cannot use HEM or PKRTRKR on the Cake Network. On Bodog you need the handgrabber which you can purchase at IdleMiner.
