Actually you played the hand perfectly, given your read. If it's not clear that you played it fine, then you really need to work on understanding your hand equities in certain situations. Pokerstove (http://www.pokerstove.com) is your friend - learn to use it. I've covered it in a bunch of articles and a bunch of videos.

Plugging in the flop here with your actual hands:

Board: 7h 2h 6d
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 52.828% 52.83% 00.00% 523 0.00 { AhJh }
Hand 1: 47.172% 47.17% 00.00% 467 0.00 { Qc7c }

You can see that you were actually a favorite on the flop with 52% equity - so you actually do want to get all the money in. Combined with some fold equity since your read was that the villain was a clown, this is an easy c/r and then call.

Even if you were up against KK (which would be rare given the spewy villain's range), you're almost 50% equity:

Board: 7h 2h 6d
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 45.354% 45.35% 00.00% 449 0.00 { AhJh }
Hand 1: 54.646% 54.65% 00.00% 541 0.00 { KdKs }

I advise you to really understand your equities in certain common situations like this - ie. where you have a flush draw + overs, or pair+flush draw, or straight draw + flush draw and see how your equity compares to villain hands such as overpairs.

Don't be results oriented that you lost the hand - be happy that you made the correct play.

Hope this helps and I wasn't too harsh (I think you need some tough-love though!)

just to expand on what atta said, on the flop Axs has 12 outs vs any hand except AA or set or 2pr or a flopped straight, if x is bigger than oponent pair, like your J was to his pr 77, you have 15 outs, hence your 52+% equity in his post (fyi -13 outs is about 50%equity). But if you look at the betting on the flop, even after the yahoo reraised you and you had 17 bucks left. if you knew he had AA or (even a flopped straight) you are basically even money(net EV=0) to call with your 1/3 chance at the nut flush, if he had KK you are a money favorite with about a 48% chance to draw out on KK and MUST call. The AXs over card hand vs a 2 pr hand you are slightly neg EV due to chance of them filling up to a boat, same thing w/ set which is the worse case with a slightly more neg EV since 2 pr has 12% chance to fill up, set has about 1/3 chance to fill up. You should put numbers into pokerstove so you are familiar with the equity situations and start committing these to memory. i generally think about these type situations in terms of my number of outs vs his hand range, especially the top of his range for worst case. i go back and use poker stove for less common and less clear situations after the session.

it is standard strategy to get it all in w an AXs hand where X is bigger than any card on the board since you are rarely a significant dog when flop hits, by the time you realize you are behind you are typically pot odd committed per above, and you normally have substantial fold equity vs a non donk before all the money goes in. Atta of course is correct that you do need to be familiar with these common situations especially if you want to multitable

hope this helps hg

wow wow, wasn't expecting such a lengthy reply, thanks guys.

Will check that pokerstove app, and have already began on your videos atta :)

It's true, I do usually see myself making the correct play and am happy I did that, not too bummed out about losing the money, however I am a spewy donk who went on to lose my whole BR that day. Dont know whats wrong with me, but I love this game and I am committed to improving. Gonna stick around these forums, you'll be seeing lots of mee!!

THANKS

HAHA, you really wanna know, let me dish them out, I was playing outta my limit to be honest was my own fault.

Overall I think I burnt about $250. Luckily it was all profit I grinded out from a $50 deposit, but still a lame ass feeling, sure you've all been there before. Hold on tight, Ill find some other hands.

I am not sure, whether to grind back up playing sngs or cash tables, so much more variance in cash. Hold on Ill dish out those other hands from Holdem Manger, Thanks for all the help guys.

:)
