Recommended Poker sites

Im on FTP and Pokerstars, no rakeback. Primarily playing on PS. Got lucky one night where i had three tables that were very profitable, i just had great reads on everyone and had several ATM's playing. Made a huge profit. Next night, thinking i had become a poker god, played one table and made $80 in no time at all. Same kind of situation as above.

THEN, still thinking i was a poker god :( , lost quite a bit. Very little spewing on my part, just lost some coin flips. Looking back, i was on tables with good players and under adjusted. So i kept changing tables after 40-60 hands after i felt i had a good read and felt the tables were not profitable to try and find profitable tables.

My question is this; Should i change sites to at least get rakeback and look for softer tables, or should i just stay where im at and tighten my game up a lot until i find the soft table's again? Am i being impatient thus creating bad play on my part? Either way, I know i have to adjust to the tables, but progress seems to be difficult and slow.

What kind of stakes are you playing? And do you have a healthy bankroll for these stakes?

hi sponger

a couple things
First, i think everyone has had the kind of streak you described and the same poker god feeling so welcome to the club-lol

rakeback is more critical if you have a lower winrate. If you are winnings 1bb/100hands rakeback will make up a bigger % of your overall winnings than if you winning 8bb/100hands. There are many players that multitable 50,100,200nl games and are basically break even and all their profit comes from rakeback, so it is critical to them. I try to follow the basic poker rule that you dont have to be the best player in the world, you just have to be better than those, or most of those, at your table(s). I have found that to easiest to do at bodog. Bodog doeast have rakeback, but i think my higher winrate there more than makes up for it. I have solid winrates across PS, FT, Carbon, UB and a couple other for the NL stakes i played at each. You can find softer tables at all the sites, But i know FT and PS players on average are better than the ones at Bodog for each stake level so i chose to play vs worse players at bodog. My win rate is abou 25% higher at bodog than other sites so i live without rakback w/ a smile.

hope this helps

Ya I think if you are consistantly profitting without rakeback, why change what you are doing. But if you are close to breakeven or perhaps losing some, rakeback is all the difference in the world and it would be a lowdown dirty shame to not be getting it.

If you are winning and collecting rakeback you are definetly getting the best of your online poker experience. I recently signed up at carbon via this site and am getting rakeback. They pay it daily and it sure is nice to recieve!

So, I suppose I would suggest looking for a poker room that you you can win at and get rakeback!

For now im playing .05/.10 6 max and some sit n go's up to 3$-9 to 45players. BTW, after posting i bought in for 8$ and cashed out with 43, so it's just sitting tight and finding the right tables. It's just a bit harder on stars and ftp at times. It can be done though, and if i don't play like a gambler, i can find ways to beat the good ones or remain profitable.

Rakeback would help though, any free money is good. Initially i was ignorant, and did not sign up for rakeback... never knew what it was prior to joining.

Whatever people say.. Beating a surtain limit is imporant.. but rakeback is so too! Especially with all the varience and stuff! And especially when you are grinding micro stakes where the rake is alot of BBs/100 which means you need to beat the game for more BBs then you would if you had rakeback!

I earn like more then 30 Buy ins a month with only rakeback.. So when I am having some bad varience in a month.. Its nice the rakeback is there at the end of the month :)

Turst me when you start to grind volume you will find all sorts of weird swings.. Rakeback will be a steady factor in your grinding and will give you piece of mind!
