SNG ROI

Postby colfarrell » Sun Aug 15, 2010 12:41 pm

Hi all,

What should my ROI% be hitting for 9man low stakes SNG's, $1-$5 buy in?

I'm confident with the 9-man gameplay and I'm planning to play only sng's for the next month, so just wondering what my ROI% target should be? (And I know u can hit bad run's etc but planing on putting in the volume)

Thanks
Col.

i spent about a year playing exclusively sngs between 6.50-16.00 turbos at bodog
overall roi was about 22% or so, which is by no means near the top end possible
but it depends how you want to play
i would only play 4 at a time so i could watch and read opponents and try to make best decision,
but many players play 10-20 or more sng at once and play a more systematic approach that
doesnt allow optimum decisions in every situation, but wins more $/hr played due to higher number of games played

i tried the latter, but didnt enjoy it so stayed w/ fewer tables

I'd say nowdays 10% ROI is probably pretty good. I'd be happy with anything above that.

I have a 15% roi in the $25 6 max sngs on stars which I used to play exclusively...

It used to be closer to 20% but my hourly went up when I started 20+ tabling and my ROI would go down... given the hourly I chose to carry on 20+ tabling.

Obviously, ROI will change depending on what level your playing, as a HU SNG pro, I say 9% is about average but you can expect to get above 10% playing the $6 level, yet at $200 level you should expect about 6% or there abouts.

Another important aspect is the speed of the games. For example, super turbo ROI's tend to be around 3% where as regular turbo's could get you closer to 15% (again for HU sngs)

Nice one thanks for the feedback lads..

I've started the grind and going pretty steady so far.. Although I seem to be getting alot of creative calls from some players when it comes to the shove/fold stage in the last 2 days, which has been really fustrating.. especially on the bubble with similar stack sizes.

just out of interest, I downloaded Table Ninja trial and I have to say I'm impressed.
A lot of neat features but the one I have found the most helpful is the auto click 'time' for a hand, and also clicks 'I'm back' so you don't miss out, especially handy if your in an important hand on another table.

The bet size and raise amount already keyed in helps, and the hotkeys seem to increase the speed of getting through the tables.

One word of caution tho, if you ever intend on writing something in the chat make sure to switch off the hotkeys!.. u'll end up shoving all in when all u meant to say was 'ul gg' !!!

Just to add a reply from a non-pro!

8-10 tabling 6$ 6max is currently giving me a 15% ROI. Should start to move up closer to 20% once i stop losing every flip under the sun ;) Still, pretty happy with 15% for the time being.
