Super Angry...

Postby BluffinPete » Sun Jul 18, 2010 6:37 pm

Wow, what a frustrating weekend, played Friday night for a couple of hours and was up 2 buy-ins, had a bit of a bad run on Saturday and was down about 1; by the end of my session this morning (about 300 hands) I was down 3 buy-ins for the weekend...net loss 1 buy-in, I feel like I am playing well, I am getting much better at getting away from hands, I am giving credit to players when I get three bet (not getting bullied), but does anyone else feel like that there are people at tables, that just seem to have your number, no matter what? Kings cracked by Jacks, astronomical river suckouts and on top of it all, watching these 50+/11 (3 of them at one table) take money away from people with total sh1t....

Not looking for responses, just venting about the swings, felt sooo good Friday, by this morning, I was so ready to chuck my laptop across the room. Man, it was so bad that I let my wife talk me into taking her to Twilight Eclipse

Terrible movie, all I can say is AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!

Not as angry as this guy...lets just say that if there was a censor beep on the chat box, it would have burned out

http://www.holdemmanager.net
NL Holdem $0.10(BB) Replayer Game#22422974435
PEBOJIbBEP ($9.93)
2010 is my year ($7.51)
BluffinPete ($10.60)
cadabros ($10)
luvtheFCB ($15.88)
Gpoke1 ($10)

PEBOJIbBEP posts (SB) $0.05
2010 is my year posts (BB) $0.10

Dealt to BluffinPete As Js (not a bad starting hand from UTG, not great, but not bad. Any re-raise to my left and I am gone)
BluffinPete raises to $0.40
fold, fold, fold, fold,
2010 is my year calls $0.30 (OK, I am now in position for the whole hand)
FLOP ($0.85) 7s Tc 3s (crappy flop for me, but he was a 27/18 player, I figured a crappy flop for him too and I have 15 outs. 9 to a flush+ 6 to top pair)
2010 is my year checks
BluffinPete bets $0.60 (take a shot at it)
2010 is my year raises to $1.90 (re-raise? hmm, figured him for a pair for sure, maybe a set, but really weak pre-flop; he should have raised me from the BB)
BluffinPete calls $1.30 (OK, I will pay for another card)
TURN ($4.65) 7s Tc 3s Jd (cool, I now have top pair and 14 more outs)
2010 is my year bets $5.21 (AI) (uh oh, all in? Jack is a scare card, is he protecting his sh1ty mid pair or did he flop the set? I still have 9 outs to the nut flush)
BluffinPete calls $5.21 (all in the hands of the poker gods now)
RIVER ($15.07) 7s Tc 3s Jd 8d
2010 is my year shows 4h Th (WTF?!? 4h10h, ok, flopped top pair, but what the heck was he doing in the hand in the first place? I was expecting a set)
(Pre 35%, Flop 45.3%, Turn 6.8%)

BluffinPete shows As Js (interesting that even at the flop it was a slight favorite on a coin flip)
(Pre 65%, Flop 54.7%, Turn 93.2%)

BluffinPete wins $14.07

then the expletives started, I was a loser for making the call, there was something about my mother, I am related to a mule and some other references to my heritage that I cannot repeat, this is a kids show after all.

I gotta say that after this mornings session, it was nice giving it back

Wow, 2010 really is his year :P

Some players just won't let go of a hand. I've been in many situations where I give the villain too much credit. Some go all-in on a Jxx flop with Q high and no draws and just the other night I had a limp-caller who cracked my pocket AA with 74o on a K74 flop and another 4 on the turn to spice it a little more. It was impossible to get mad because my jaw was hanging way down and I burst in laughter. Most microstakes players in my opinion are playing the lottery and not playing poker. I think Hockeyguy said that in one of his videos, that villains just wait when they can shout Bingo. People watch high stakes poker on tv and see Tom "Durrrr" Dwan play 53o and wins a monster pot and they think they can do the same. I don't think that many players even know what position means. That's why I don't really give UTG PFR too much credit if my stats don't show hi's a tag or a nit. Some players see a picture in one of the holecards when dealt and probably think..."YES". Just be glad that there are players like that, because if the bad players would loose all the time they would stop playing and there would be no more fish.

Last night I managed to get into some trouble with my AK agains AA all-in PF. I was sure I was dead. Board goes KKxxx. I couldn't believe my eyes. Feels nice to also suck out ones in a while :-)

Man, do I feel for HG in his last post under the Microstakes Challenge, I know how he is feeling about a series of bad runs. On the up side for him, he has a hell of a lot more experience than I do and I know he will come back out of this dip and once again be crushing the microstakes

Me, I have had to swallow my pride and move down to 5NL as I practice good bankroll management, I am not tapped out or anything, but I am well below the 100 recommended buy-ins for the 10NL game. I must admit however, that the 5NL games seem more like bingo than poker. I am finding I have to be more patient, but when I get the chance to get into the hand, I am pretty much stacking my opponent HU, in one hand, I stacked 3 callers with a AKs when I hit the nut flush on the River. There was only one guy who should have been in the hand and he had KK

I am about $14 away from being able to go back up to 10NL. I shall stay here in the bingo fields until I am at an appropriate Bankroll.

See, I learn... :D
