AA vs 95 - AK vs A9

Postby dragon111 » Sat Sep 11, 2010 3:37 am

Ok so here is the story ;
I am on the Button dealt Pocket AA for the 2nd time in a row. I raise up 4bb. The BB calls, whom is playing a lot of hands.

Flop: 8s 2d 7s I bet the Pot - Get Called
Turn: 6h He bets out almost Pot / I PUSH all in
River: X
He Shows: 9s-5s vs Ad Ac

I am button again, dealt AK (s) against an ok player, not too much of a read other then I know he plays A's rag.

Flop: A J A I bet the Pot - Get Called
Turn: 9 He bet half the pot (he is also a little short stack) I didn't believe- PUSHED All in
River: X
He shows: A 9 (of) vs Ah Kh

I vomitted with this one.

I believe I bet out correct and this was just one of those things that happens.
Anyone else have any suggestions or comments ?

you nailed it, no defense vs a 3 outer or a donk catching the gutshot
you had him them by the short hairs and they escaped
that is why bet size is important to charge them max $$
on all the hands they miss to make sure you win more than
you lose when they get lucky.

Also notice their play is even worse when they are short stacked
since this limits their implied odds

There can be no light without darkness

Well it is nice when things work out too... Tonight was a nice turn around, the beginning was kind of slow nothing really happening. Had a little bit of down turn.

Interesting 2 of the hands had a really over aggressive person, playing a lot of pots Pushing and getting some good cards as well.

He bet and because he played so many hands I had called.
FLOP: 7s 4c Kd - I bet the POT he calls
TURN: 6c - I bet almost the POT, he PUSHES all in - I CALL
(Now this didnt make sense I had seen him play big hands before and when he had something he was RR then PUSHING. I put him on Bluff.)
River: 3h

He Shows: AQ My Hand: KJ

I bet out and get called by other plays whom played a lot of hands and one was just one I had caught on the Bluff.

FLOP: 7h 3h Ah - Player 1: Bets half Pot / I raise to Pot / Player 3:Call and so does 1
TURN: 4c - Player 1: Bets Pot / I Push ALL IN / Player 3: Calls and so does 1
( I put one of them on NUT FLUSH draw and the other not sure maybe thought could push around.)
River: Kc

Player 1: As Jd My Hand: Jh 10h Player 3: Kh 10d (same one from earlier)

Paying attention and having patience really assisted me tonight. And what was really nice is that I was able to get the max value.

hand 1
nice read, microplayers tend to play in patterns and you read it nicely and took advantage

hand 2
good aggressive, that is how to get max value, not sloplayng

always feels good when the plan comes togethor
