Trips on wet board

Villain in this hand is a 29/19 guy who plays somewhat regularly. He 3 bets around 10% and he resteals from the small blind around 8%. His aggression factor by street is 2.9/3.2/4.6. He donk bets 17% and check raises 16%, but as far as I can tell he primarily only does it on the flop. Those last two stats aren't necessarily relevant to this hand as he didn't make either of those moves but I feel like they assist in narrowing his range.

So obviously I'm just trying to steal the blinds and hopefully use my position to take the pot down post flop if I do end up getting caught. I ended up flopping trips and did my standard cbet which I had been doing at about 80% on this table. The guy called me in the small blind and my read at this point is that he is either on an over pair, combo draw, TJ-AJ, KQ, or JJ. I don't think he's going to float often, but there is a chance he might seeing as I have been very aggressive and the board is very floatable with a few bd draws and an ace. I'm only really giving him 4 combos (KJ and JJ) that can beat me at this point while he has a ton of crap to get value from. K8-KT seem like unlikely sb flats, maybe if they are suited...

Turn Ace is not my favorite card. It negates my kicker which is not that big of a deal, but now a lot more straights have come into play. I also think it will be much more difficult to get value from any Jx hand that called the flop. I made a smaller bet to try to get him to think I was on a draw or a jack myself. 12 dollars in to a pot of 23. I had no intention of folding if he came over the top here as he could have just made aces up and sensed some weakness with the small bet.

The queen river was probably a good card for me. Now I'm chopping with any king that's not coupled with another broadway card, and I doubt he's playing any KT+ this passively. There's not many tens that he can get to the river with aside from QT and he would have already had me beat on the turn, maybe AThh. So the question is, can I profitably value bet the river? I can't put him on a jack, I can't put him on a 10, and I don't know if I can get value from a pair of aces. It wouldn't make sense for him to float me twice and then check this river either. He has to either have some kind of showdown value or a busted draw (which I can't get value from).

Do you value bet or check behind?

Tough spot, really depends on your image. If you're seen as pretty tight and not spazzy postflop then I might just check behind because he isn't going to call with worse. I'd probably just check behind, as it's gonna be really tough for him to have AJ (the only worse hand he can really have that might potentially call).

a couple other things if you check

when they see what you raised w/ they will frequently assume you are looser than you are and give looser action in future

it may allow you to rep trips in future and steal pots since they saw you not slowplay trips this time

you likely get to see what he called down with and get a better read on him in future

the higher the limits the more your image will affect future hands so these type of considerations become more important, luckily at bodog 100nl many players that are starting to try to pay attention to their opponents will frequently draw wrong conclusion about your style after a hand like this, so you want to be aware of what your image is and who will read you correctly and who will draw incorrect assumptions about your style that you can exploit in future.

Also, I was playing 25/22 and stealing 60% of buttons with an 80% cbet over about 100 hands. I was so pumped to flop trips because my image was awesome to hit a made hand. I thought I'd likely get action especially since I had hooked both of the blinds. Didn't work out that great though.

but opponent let me off the hook.

worst example i ever saw was years ago playing limit, i flopped a boat, opponent flopped quads, they had position and just called my bets on 3 streets and NEVER RAISED their quads. God bless bad players
