General Comments/Questions

Postby jalup » Sat Jan 24, 2009 12:58 pm

Hi Tim,
I appreciate the new format of pausing the vid and providing more indepth commentary- nice job.
Question- is it possible to download and then view the vids without being connected to the web. I know you guys have some sort of security feature that requires web access to view the downloads, unfortunately I am not always in wifi range.
Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback.

You only need to be connected to the web the first time you play the video. So if you want to watch it offline, download it, start the video and enter in your username/password as usual. Now you can close the video, and your DRM authentication will be saved, so you can watch the video offline anytime within the next 7 days.

Cheers,

Hey Tim,
Appreciate the new vid #48 on low stakes- good for us newbies to see how you play.
Can u recommend the opening hands you would play/position at these levels?
Thanks,
jalup

In general, I would say raise these if the pot is unopened:

UTG: 22+, ATo+, ATs+, KQs, KQo (yes, fold KJs) - potentially fold low pocket pairs if you have a couple calling stations behind
MP: 22+, ATo+, A9s+, KQs, KQo (fold KJs!)
CO: 22+, A8o+, A2s+, KTo+, KTs+, QTs+, QTo+, JTs, JTo, T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s
Btn: 22+, A2o+, A2s+, K8o+, K7s+, Q8s+, Q9s+, J9o+, J9s+, T9o, T8s+, 98o, 97s+, 87o, 86s+, 76s
SB: if opponent in BB is tight, raise almost any 2, if they're loose, fold most hands except those listed in CO

i WAS WONDERING IF ANYBODY ELSE IS HAVING ISSUES WITH SOME OF THE VIDEOS, Oops i was SHOUTING.
Anywho, i have downloaded all the vids, but can only play about half of them, the other half crash my computer. I have made a list of the crash videos, redownloaded them all, but still have the crash issue. I have also reloaded newest media player version to no effect. The same thing happens if i try to stream the offending vids, very frustrating.

i am really tired of constant reboot with no progress. anyone have any insight, or if this is in wrong place, a better forum area to post.

thanx

Hi HG,

Which specific videos crash your computer? And what error message are you getting?

so far videos these vids have crashed my computer

Video 37 – 1.00/2.00 NL 6 max – wont run
Video 19 -6 -man 2/4 NL- 2 table video crashes
Video 20 -6 -man 2/4 NL- 2 table video crashes
Video 16 -6 man 2/4 NL- 2 table video crashes
Video 13 -6 -man 2/4 NL- 2 table video crashes
Video 45 – .025/.050 NL 6 max – wont run

the crash videos send me to my desktop withou running and then all my icons have been turned into jumbo icons and the screen is frozen, i have to turn off, reboot, and go to control panel to resize icons and screen pixel count- happens every time i try to run those videos

the won't run videos do something different- namely the screen simply goes black and locks up,
i then have to turn off and restart to gain computer function again

i never get any type of error message

i can run the following

Errol_1(24nl)
Video 11 6 -man 2/4 NL
Video 12 6 -man 1/2 NL
Video 14 6 -man 2/4 NL
Video 15 6 -man .25/.50 NL
Video 7 6 -man 2/4 NL-
Video 18 6 -man 2/4 NL
Video 39 6 -man .25/.5 NL
Video 40 6 -man .25/.5 NL-
Video 30 6 -6.5 SNG-
Video 36 6 -0.50/1.00 NL 6 max

any insight would be greatly appreciated

thnx HG

HG - what screen resolution are you running? And what type of computer do you have? I think perhaps your screen resolution isn't high enough to view some of the videos.

i have been trying this for airplane rides etc recently
i can open and start a video(s) and then log off or shut down the computer etc
and then go in and get to the video to play without connecting to the internet just as described,

but the ability to play the video without reconnecting to the internet only lasts about 2 hours
i have tried it numerous times with the same results

any idea what the problem might be?

thnx HG

I think I found what the problem was. It should work offline for 7 days now. Let me know if you continue to have problems.
