video 23 -Dealing with pokerpete95

Postby Checkmate » Mon Nov 30, 2009 8:18 pm

Video 23 is 2/4 on full tilt 6max. Pokerpete is the fish and he is on our left.

Would it be a good idea to find a new table where we have position on the fish? Seems we were having somewhat of a hard time since the loose fish had position on us the majority of the hands we were involved in with him.

When Im playing I wonder if I should stay and grind it out or just leave and find a new table where we have better position. How do you guys deal with these situations?

Thanks for any feedback.

Hi Checkmate,

If pokerpete95 was a strong aggressive player then you're right - it might make sense to find a new table. But since we've seen him make some loose fishy plays, I'd rather not leave the table and give up an opportunity to stack him, even if we don't have the ideal position relative to him. What I'd do against a loose fish like him is tighten up my opening range, so that I hit more flops and can value bet him relentlessly since we know he won't fold. I'm not going to be able to bluff him very much, so I want to have a stronger opening range that flops strongly. When I do miss the flop against him when he has position on me, there's nothing wrong with check-folding if you don't think it's likely that he'll fold to a continuation bet bluff. I'll just move on to the next hand and wait for a spot where I can value bet him to death.
